Celebrating Canadian Family and Business in Style! 

On Thursday March 25, CAFE Members and Friends came together to celebrate family business!

The CAFE GTA Annual Family Business Celebration and Family Enterprise of the Year Achievement Awards is our opportunity to reach out to our community in praise of their efforts and in recognition of their challenges and successes as family businesses. 

The three family stories were inspiring and touching.  The families of Gerrie Electric, ITR and Sicilian Ice Cream were honored for their contributons to our community.  We shared in the stories of their families, the many changes, transitions and tragedies they survived as families and as businesses.  Their regard and love of their families and legacies was powerful and impressive.  

It was a privilege to have shared in the family business histories and plans for the future.  We can’t thank our finalists enough for their Shared Experience!

We were pleased to welcome the Moosehead Family and Derek Oland as our Keynote Speaker.  Derek shared his family history and the story of the "Last Canadian Beer".  His poignant view of family business and continuity planning was relevant, instructive and insprining!

Our friends at Newport Partners wrote a fantastic summary of the evening's presentation at Creating Opportunities.
